Biography
My research is focused on understanding how RNA structure can inform mechanisms of non-canonical translation initiation. Specifically, I am interested in HCV-like internal ribosome entry sites (IRESs) and how their structural heterogeneity informs their mechanisms of action and host cell specificity. Going forward, I will be investigating how the domain III region of these IRESs help regulate IRES activity and specificity."
