Biography

Anthony Sica (she/they) works on the development advanced cryogenic light microscopy methods to be introduced into the cryo CLEM workflow. Currently, they are utilizing time-correlated single photon correlation methods to categorize and develop a library of fluorescent markers commonly used in biology and observing how spectral and time-dependent photophysical processes change at lower temperatures. Alongside this, they are also developing a fast throughput method to measure the crystallinity of ice within cryogenic samples. Allowing a quick and robust method to assess the quality of freezing the sample early within the workflow will save money and time in the cryogenic workflow. In their spare time they like to climb, gather friends for board games, play music, and spend time with their partner and two cats.
